    Trail is nearly entirely single track with the exception of a connecting segment of double track that is maybe 1/2 mile of the 10 mile loop. The trail is located at 9100 feet altitude in cool pine, fir, and aspen forest. First came a 400 ft climb to the Virgin Rim Trail junction that warmed me up.
